America celebrates Veterans Day on November 11th this year, and many restaurants are offering discounts and free food to both veterans and active military members as a thank you. Independent restaurants will list their deals in local papers, but there are a few national chains offering specials that are available across the country.
Golden Corral restaurants will be celebrating Veterans Day on November 14th by giving out a free dinner buffet with complimentary beverage. The chain will also be collecting donations from diners for the Disabled American Veterans.
Applebee’s is awarding veterans for their service with their choice of a free entree all day on November 11th. The restaurant chain served well over 1 million meals during their giveaway last year and plans to serve well over 1.25 million meals this year.
Sizzler is holding their holiday observation on November 11th as well. Diners with military ID can get a free six oz steak with the purchase of another six oz steak. For diners who only need a single entree, the six oz steak by itself comes with a 50% discount.
Outback Steakhouse is currently holding a 5 day long promotion that began on November 7th. Military guests who visit between the 7th and the 11th can receive a free Bloomin Onion appetizer and a beverage of their choice. All national locations are participating in the event.
McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants are holding their 13th annual Veterans Day meal on November 13th this year. The chain brings out a special menu including fried shrimp and Parmesan Crusted Tilapia that veterans can choose one entree from for free.
Veterans who visit Hooters on November 11th can collect a free 10 piece order of their classic Hot Wings. Guests choose from boneless or bone-in wings in the naked or breaded options, both with buffalo sauce. This offer can only be redeemed for dine-in orders.
Little Caesar’s fans who have served in the military can show their ID at any participating location in the chain to get a free order of Crazy Bread. The offer is only available on Veterans Day itself. Both valid military issued IDs and copies of the DD-214 form will be accepted as proof of military service.
All orders placed with Papa’s Johns restaurants on November 11th, from 11 am to 11 pm, will result in a donation of $1 if the online ordering app is used. The money will help the USO make the holidays better for both military members and their families. All orders of the USO Meal Deal will also add a donation.
The Uno’s chain is offer a partial discount on all veteran meal tickets starting on the 7th and running through the 11th. The entire bill will be discounted by 19.43%, which is also the year the chain was founded.
Finally, veterans can pick up a free donut for breakfast at all national Tim Horton’s locations. The chain is offering a special Star Spangled Vanilla Dip donut for the event. Military uniform or ID is required to redeem the deal.
