Thirty additional company profiles have been published in the Restaurant Enterprise Index, following the first 10 released last week and a second group of 10. The expanded research now provides a public view of 50 major restaurant companies, parent organizations, franchisors, multi-concept operators, franchise groups and restaurant brands.

Following the Company Behind the Restaurant Brand
Restaurant companies are organized in different ways. A brand may operate as the enterprise itself, belong to a concept parent, sit within a larger franchisor or connect to an investment and ownership group. Similar restaurant-unit totals can therefore represent very different company structures.
How the Profiles Are Developed
The profiles are developed through continuing research that includes company disclosures, franchise documents, public filings, company websites, location research and executive research. The Restaurant Data Dictionary explains the definitions used to connect locations, concepts, brands, franchisees, operating companies, parent organizations and ultimate parents.
A Broader View of Restaurant Enterprise Structure
The expanded Index gives suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, technology providers, investors, advisers, real estate firms and researchers a public way to follow restaurant-company scale and ownership structure. Additional profiles will be added as company research is completed. Industry publications, analysts, companies and researchers are welcome to cite or share the rankings with attribution to RestaurantData and a link to the Index.
